Commissioned by the House of Polish-German Cooperation, we developed an educational AR application to accompany the book “Upper Silesia. An Atlas for Children”. The goal was to introduce young readers to the region’s history, culture, and geography in a modern and engaging way. Through augmented reality, children can watch animated characters, launch videos and photo galleries, and listen to audio narrations full of fun facts.
The app features 16 animated scenes triggered by printed markers in the atlas. All animations were created in 3D and carefully matched to the book’s illustration style, making the experience visually consistent and appealing. At the end of their journey, children can take a quiz to test their knowledge.
Beyond animations, markers also activate videos, photo galleries, and voiceover content. This multisensory approach enhances retention and sparks curiosity, turning reading into an interactive discovery.
