Description:

For Stacja Muzeum in Warsaw, we created a modern interactive installation – a virtual fitting room. It allows visitors to “try on” historical railway uniforms without physically touching the exhibits. The installation combines virtual mirror technology with realistic 3D models and a touch interface to offer both educational and engaging experiences.

How does the virtual fitting room work?

The main menu lets users browse through uniforms, each accompanied by a description read aloud by a built-in voice assistant. The system functions as an interactive mirror – using a motion sensor to detect and analyze the visitor’s silhouette in real time. The 3D uniform automatically adjusts to the person’s body and height. Thanks to automatic calibration, the interface elements reposition themselves to match the user’s height, ensuring full readability. Users can also show or hide hats to customize the final look. At the end of the interaction, the system takes a souvenir photo, which can be downloaded to a phone using a QR code.

Production process and visual integration

In cooperation with the museum team, we carried out a photo session that enabled us to capture details such as fabric texture, colors, and the sheen of buttons. Based on this material, we created optimized 3D models ready for real-time use.

The installation is placed in a dedicated exhibition area, surrounded by authentic uniforms displayed in glass cases. This setting allows the digital element to complement the physical exhibition and create a cohesive, modern, and engaging museum experience.

This project shows how interactive solutions for museums can combine history with technology and reshape how we experience cultural heritage.
