Our educational AR app, created for the House for Polish-German Cooperation, is an innovative tool that enhances learning through play. Designed as a digital companion to the book “Upper Silesia. Atlas for Children,” the app introduces young users to the history, geography, and culture of the region in a modern, interactive way. It uses augmented reality to trigger animations, videos, photo galleries, and audio commentary directly from the printed pages.
By scanning illustrations in the book, children can view animated 3D characters, listen to narrated fun facts, and explore multimedia content. This multisensory experience makes learning more memorable and engaging. The educational AR app turns passive reading into active discovery, combining entertainment with knowledge.
The app contains 16 animated AR elements – characters, objects, and scenes – all created in a style consistent with the book’s illustrations. Each animation adds depth and context to the printed content. At the end of the interaction, users can take an educational quiz to test their knowledge and reinforce key information.
Beyond animations, the app also unlocks videos, photo galleries, and voice recordings via specific image markers in the book. This approach supports different learning styles and strengthens attention and comprehension. The educational AR app inspires curiosity and fosters cognitive development through a playful, tech-powered format.
