Aplikacja Davis Fabrics
How do you present an upholstery fabric collection in a way that’s both visually impressive and genuinely useful to customers? For Davis Fabrics, we created an interactive mobile application with an augmented reality (AR) module. The app allows users to virtually test out fabrics on furniture — without the need for physical samples.
The aim was to build a tool that presents the company’s product range in a non-standard yet highly practical way. Davis Fabrics wanted a modern, visually refined application that would work equally well at trade shows and in day-to-day sales operations.
Our answer was a multimedia mobile app combining 3D fabric visualization on furniture with the ability to view configured models in the user’s real space using augmented reality.
The key challenge was achieving realistic representation — not only of color but also of texture and fabric character. It was also essential to help customers envision how a fabric would look on a real piece of furniture, in a real interior.
We designed an elegant, minimalistic mobile app aligned with Davis Fabrics’ brand identity. It combines a fabric catalogue, furniture configurator, and AR module into a single, easy-to-use platform. The user can explore the full collection and experiment with different fabric combinations — all within the app.
Due to a tight deadline before an upcoming trade fair, the first version of the app was delivered as a solid, functional foundation with future expansion in mind — especially regarding customer communication tools and order processing. The initial version included three main modules:
Catalogue and search module:
We digitized the full fabric collection, including technical data, descriptions, and high-resolution macro images showing weave and texture. The app features a powerful search and filter system allowing users to browse by fabric properties such as material type, abrasion resistance, or color.
Augmented Reality module:
Once the configuration is complete, users can place the virtual piece of furniture into their physical space using the camera. Thanks to marker-based tracking, the 3D model is accurately positioned, allowing users to preview how the selected fabric would look in their actual interior.
The app was well received by both sales teams and end users. It became a practical, everyday sales tool and helped position Davis Fabrics as an innovative brand that combines product aesthetics with cutting-edge technology.
